- Begin by cleaning the edges and heels of the leather soles thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris, or previous coatings. You can use a damp cloth or a soft brush to gently scrub the areas and ensure they are clean and dry before applying the polish.
- Before applying the Sole Edge and Heel Polish to the entire sole, it’s a good idea to test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility and to see how the color turns out.
- Once you’re satisfied with the test patch, apply a small amount of Fiebing’s Sole Edge and Heel Polish to an applicator brush or a clean, soft cloth. Use gentle, even strokes to apply the polish to the edges and heels of the leather soles. Ensure that you cover the entire area evenly.
- After applying the polish, allow it to dry completely. The drying time may vary depending on factors such as temperature and humidity. Typically, it takes a few minutes to dry to the touch.
- Depending on the desired level of coverage and shine, you can apply additional coats of polish. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next one. Multiple coats may be necessary to achieve the desired result.
- Once the polish has dried, you can buff the edges and heels of the leather soles with a clean, dry cloth to enhance the shine. Buffing helps to bring out the natural luster of the polish and gives the edges and heels a polished finish.
- Depending on the wear and tear your shoes or boots endure, you may need to reapply the Sole Edge and Heel Polish periodically to maintain their appearance and protection.
- While restoring the look of your soles & heels, this would also be a good time to polish your shoes or boots with shoe cream.
